End of Radiation and more...... September 2014

September has been a roller coster!!!!! So instead of me writing all the events and happenings I'm going to show you through some fun pictures. To begin with Ron had his radiations!! He did really well for the most part!! One day we went to Payson to see Lindsey and the girls.  Maggie as you can see is always happy to see Pop! Emma had a soccer game and Grace Ballet always a fun time with the girls!!

Ron and his radiation doctors.  They are all fantastic!! This is the Half Way day!
This is Ron's second book of his life at the Huntsman!  The first book is just as full and they are getting ready for book #3.
Radiation is now complete!! 10 LONG DAYS!!!! Everything went well and now its time to PLAY!!

Logan and Lauren came in from AZ. Lauren's brother was getting married in Salt Lake and they came for the wedding and so we got the benefit of spending some time with them as well!!!
Thumb war with Pop!!
Girls being girls!!!
At the wedding......

And Ron even did some dancing too!!! It was a fun night!!!
The next day... Not sooooooooo Good! Dang!!! Ron could not keep anything down.  Back to the ER but thankfully he just needed some fluids and an IV dose of Zofran and he was released!
And this is yesterday!! Back to doing good!! Like I said a "Roller Coaster!!!!"

So he's done with radiation, and is doing well again!  We are hoping that all this good continues!  We love our family so much and are so thankful for them and the good times we have with them.  Ron goes in for a check the first of October not big scans or anything like that just blood work etc.  Then he will have his infusion and iron.  He continues to take his chemo every night, along with a few other meds.  All in all things are going really well!  The next BIG SCANS will be the week of Thanksgiving.  And we for sure have lots to be thankful for!!!

Sept. 4, 2014 More Radiation....

We spent the entire day today at the Huntsman Hospital.  And although it is not my favorite place to be I am so thankful it is as close as it is for us!! Ron met with a new radiation doctor, Dr. Lloyd, who we both really liked.  He is new to the radiation unit and very good!

Turns out the spot they are going to be doing the radiation on is the same one they did it on before.  They sometimes don't get it all or it just doesn't work and they have to do it again only better.  So he will have to have it again only more days this time.  Because it did in fact grow bigger. Dang!

So Ron goes back in tomorrow for a day of what they call "planning and mapping"  they will mark the location take more scans and do all that needs to be done so that on Monday they can begin the radiation.  It will be for 10 days Monday-Friday each day for 2 weeks.  And again I'm so thankful that we live close.

After all the "radiation stuff" it was upstairs for his bone infusion and iron.  Kinda funny that he does this bone infusion once a month to stop the cancer from getting in his bones,  but he is having radiation on Monday for cancer that is in his bones (haha) When I said that to the doctor he agreed, but also said if he wasn't having the infusion the bones could be a whole lot worse!!! Have to find the blessings in all things!!!

We are home now and glad to be! Will be in bed early for an early day tomorrow.  If they let me go in the room with Ron for some of the time for the mapping I will take pictures.  As for now Happy September to you all!! Fall is in the air!!
