July 23, 2014 Summer Fun

It's been a fews weeks since I have done any update so I thought I would let everyone know how things are going.....

We have good days and we have bad days but we do our best to not let the bad days weigh us down.

Joseph F. Smith said, "To stand firm in the face of overwhelming opposition, when you have done all you can, is the courage of faith."  I think Ron is doing just that and then some.  He truly is doing all that he can and then putting the rest in the Lords hands.

We have been able to have some events take place this summer so far....

Girls camp was a blast!!! The theme was "Oh The Places You'll Go" from Dr. Sues the camp leader dressed Ron up like The Cat-In-The-Hat and all the girls had "Thing 1 or 2 etc. on their t-shirts it was a lot of fun!! The girls were so kind to Ron and he was glad that he was able to stay for the whole camp.
I couldn't help myself!  He's so dang CUTE!!!

Ron talking to the girls in the lodge.

Next it was off to Youth Conference.  A few days before the conference Ron got really sick!!!! I didn't think he would be going this time, and I knew how bad he felt.  Never fear the Lord is on our side!  We had two amazing worthy priesthood holders come over and give Ron a blessing.  By the next day he was in his words "wiped out" but feeling much better! And by the time Youth Conference started he was ready to go and he did!!  This is us at the cemetery where we went for a service project during the conference.  A very spiritual event!!

These are our dear friends Jed and Cindy Christensen.  Without them we wouldn't have been able to go on either experience!! They were so kind!!! Jed took his trailer up to girls camp so that Ron would have a place to stay besides a tent!! Our trailer was being used by the women leaders.  And then for Youth Conference it was a 4 hour drive to Brownie Lake which was much to much for Ron to drive the truck.  Sooooo Jed did it! He drove our truck and pulled the trailer for us and then stayed with Ron the whole time and really did what ever was needed to be done! He was fantastic and we are grateful to him for all his kindness to us!! Plus he and Cindy are a lot of fun to be with so that made it even better.

All in all Ron is "hanging in there" a saying I'm getting really sick of and so is he, BUT there really isn't much more that could be said.  He will have is blood work done the first of August and his monthly infusion.  He is still on his chemo and will have scans the end of August UGGH!!

But until then we keep doing all that we can to have faith, spend time with the kids and grandkids and enjoy everything that we can!!!

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
