August 26, 2014 Last scan results.....

MRI (brain scan) NO NEW TUMORS!!!!!! All are either gone, or smaller!!! There is still some blood showing but not new blood and the doctor feels this is what has been the cause of some of his head aches.  But was very pleased!! Re-scan in 3 months!!

CT (body scan) There has been growth in all tumors HOWEVER... nothing big enough to change the chemo that he is on now and it appears that the chemo is slowing the growth, which is exactly what we want!!!

They did find a growth on his left hip that has grown far to much and fast over the last 3 months, so that will require radiation.  Not our favorite thing but much better on the hip than on the brain!!! So we will be getting that scheduled over the next few days and I will update more when I know more.

We have had a wonderful summer!! Doing lots of fun things! And are so thankful to all who continue to pray for Ron and give him Love and encouragement!! The fight goes on!!!

August 2014

"Faith moves mountains, but you have to keep pushing while you're praying."  Mason Cooley

I think we are pushing all day long!!! And I see great blessings continue to come our way.  I feel like we are being so blessed!!!

Ron went to the Huntsman yesterday for his monthly labs/infusion/iron day!  His labs look really good! The doctor was so optimistic it was wonderful.  He is very impressed with what is going on with Ron and the iron that he is giving him.  He feels like the combination of iron and his chemo is working to fight the cancer and is looking forward to in his words, "good scans at the end of the month." No he can't see into the future but feels like the way Ron looks which is really good, and the labs, also very good, that Ron's scans will be good as well!! So we will keep pushing and have faith that, that will be the case!!!

This is Ron in the infusion room getting pumped up with iron.  He said, "look out iron man!" And no Chase he's not playing candy crush on his computer!

Me, Lindsey, Emma and Grace were able to take a fun girls trip to Disneyland last week!  Chase and Kaylee came and "babysat" Ron.  Haha they stayed here with him so he wouldn't be left home alone. I wouldn't have gone other wise, and Ron knew it so he was glad to have the kids come and stay with him, and I was very thankful for them and their kindness in doing so!!!

We had a wonderful time and it was a trip we will never forget!! Thanks so much for Ron wanting us to get to go!  And he felt pretty good while we were gone.  I still had a little melt down missing him one day but Lindsey and the girls were great!!!

Ron will have his CT scan and MRI at the end of August!!! Always a scary time but we will keep having faith!!

July 23, 2014 Summer Fun

It's been a fews weeks since I have done any update so I thought I would let everyone know how things are going.....

We have good days and we have bad days but we do our best to not let the bad days weigh us down.

Joseph F. Smith said, "To stand firm in the face of overwhelming opposition, when you have done all you can, is the courage of faith."  I think Ron is doing just that and then some.  He truly is doing all that he can and then putting the rest in the Lords hands.

We have been able to have some events take place this summer so far....

Girls camp was a blast!!! The theme was "Oh The Places You'll Go" from Dr. Sues the camp leader dressed Ron up like The Cat-In-The-Hat and all the girls had "Thing 1 or 2 etc. on their t-shirts it was a lot of fun!! The girls were so kind to Ron and he was glad that he was able to stay for the whole camp.
I couldn't help myself!  He's so dang CUTE!!!

Ron talking to the girls in the lodge.

Next it was off to Youth Conference.  A few days before the conference Ron got really sick!!!! I didn't think he would be going this time, and I knew how bad he felt.  Never fear the Lord is on our side!  We had two amazing worthy priesthood holders come over and give Ron a blessing.  By the next day he was in his words "wiped out" but feeling much better! And by the time Youth Conference started he was ready to go and he did!!  This is us at the cemetery where we went for a service project during the conference.  A very spiritual event!!

These are our dear friends Jed and Cindy Christensen.  Without them we wouldn't have been able to go on either experience!! They were so kind!!! Jed took his trailer up to girls camp so that Ron would have a place to stay besides a tent!! Our trailer was being used by the women leaders.  And then for Youth Conference it was a 4 hour drive to Brownie Lake which was much to much for Ron to drive the truck.  Sooooo Jed did it! He drove our truck and pulled the trailer for us and then stayed with Ron the whole time and really did what ever was needed to be done! He was fantastic and we are grateful to him for all his kindness to us!! Plus he and Cindy are a lot of fun to be with so that made it even better.

All in all Ron is "hanging in there" a saying I'm getting really sick of and so is he, BUT there really isn't much more that could be said.  He will have is blood work done the first of August and his monthly infusion.  He is still on his chemo and will have scans the end of August UGGH!!

But until then we keep doing all that we can to have faith, spend time with the kids and grandkids and enjoy everything that we can!!!

July 1, 2014

First of all I have say THANK YOU!! To all the love and prayers that have been going out on Ron's behalf.  I know the power of prayer and can not say enough of how much it means to us!

Ron had his "routine" Labs and infusion today of panegrenate (sp) as well as iron.  His labs showed that his blood level is low and his iron level is also low.  We are crossing our fingers that the iron will give him a boost of energy, as he has not been feeling well.  This last week has been a hard one.

Me wanting the doctor to tell me that it is his low levels and the doctor said it could be that but, it could also be disease progression not exactly what we wanted to hear but one that we know is always possible.

At this point all we can do is what we are doing!!! Be positive spend more time with our family and enjoy everything that we can!!!

He has 5 weeks more until we do this day all over again, and then he will have 4 from that for his next tell all SCANS!! That will be the end of August.  We are in good spirits and know that all is in the Lords time and his hands, and we can't ask for more than that!!!

I will post more later.  As ALWAYS........ FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!!!!!!!

MRI update May 27, 2014

Martin Luther King Jr. said, "We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope. "

The journey we are on is full of many turns, ups and downs, and everything in-between. But today was a GOOD DAY!!! No new brain tumors the bleeds are fading and the swelling is going down.  All in all everything that took place today was positive!!! We have been so very blessed!!! And so with that said, we will keep on the road of happiness.  Spending as much time as we can with the people we love most and enjoy every second of it!!!

He goes back for a quick check in a month.  But will not have any more scans until the end of the summer.  Which means.....bring on the sunshine and let summer begin!!!

"Faith moves mountains, but you have to keep pushing while you're praying."  Mason Cooley

So we will keep up the faith and keep on praying!!!  Thank you to everyone for all the love and support and the PRAYERS!! We know they work!!!

First set of results!!! May 22, 2014

Lets just get to the good stuff!!! I am going to say it in my terms.... It's a GOOD DAY!!!!!
Yes there is always some growth but having that said there is so much good to talk about!! The growth that is there is so minimal that the doctor was very pleased!  Ron is going to stay on the same chemo for the next 3 months.  And then do more scans after that.  He has his MRI (brain scan) on Tuesday.  If that gives us good results he will be on a roll!!! My feelings are positive!! Although Ron has had some bad head aches they have been managed and hopefully he didn't have any brain bleeds or anything else that would cause him a need for more radiation but until we get told otherwise we will keep up the positive thoughts.  So what this means for now is we will wait for his scan on Tuesday and then plan on a fun filled fantastic summer!!!

This is Ron and I on his birthday a week ago!!
Emma's school program so much fun!!!
Grace's pre-school graduation she is a doll!!!
Who could resist this face!!!

Faith, prayers and lots of love!! We are so thankful for everyone and all that is done for us!  We are truly so very blessed!!!
